The 1959 Fender Stratocaster pictured displays the features common to that year, including: a one-piece maple neck with spaghetti logo on the headstock, single line Kluson Deluxe tuners, a comfort contoured alder body in 3-color sunburst finish (introduced that year, replacing 2-color sunburst), a single ply eight screw white pickguard, and a three-position pickup selector switch. One master volume located closest to the player’s hand controls all the pickups, while separate tone controls are assigned to the neck and middle pickups.
