blurb about collection
Serial Number A30855
The ES-335TN pictured has the features common to late 1959 and early 1960. The fingerboard has dot inlays (until the summer of 1962), and the long pickguard reaches below the bridge (the pickguard was shortened in mid-1960). The horns of the cutaways were wider and more rounded between 1958 and 1962, and have become known by collectors as “Mickey Mouse Ears”. This natural ES-335 had also been factory equipped with a Bigsby Vibrato. In some instances, if the order were received in time, no stop tail piece holes would be drilled. In the case of this examples, the body was further along in the completion process before it was decided that it would be fitted with a Bigsby. Circular pearloid inserts cover the holes.
