Serial number -20869
This 1957 Fender Stratocaster is typical of Strats that year except for one striking difference: an ultra rare Custom Color! This body has been sprayed a vivid Taos Turquois over a Desert Sand undercoat. Other than the unusual color the guitar has all classic 1957 features, including: a one-piece “V” profile maple neck with spaghetti logo on the headstock, single line Kluson Deluxe tuners (between 1954 and 1956, the cover had no “Kluson Deluxe” stamp), a comfort contoured alder body, a single ply eight screw white pickguard, and a three-position pickup selector switch. One master volume located closest to the player’s hand controls all the pickups, while separate tone controls are assigned to the neck and middle pickups. The bridge pickup has no tone control, allowing for full “take off” sound. The neck plate is stamped with a dash in front of the five-digit serial number (only seen in 1957 and very early 1958).
