Paul Reed Smith DGS Hand Selected Custom 24

Multiple colors or weights available

This is a guitar that I have been trying to talk Paul into building for years now and I finally convinced him! We are basing this off of some that he built in the early 90's with a stop tailpiece and tuneomatic bridge. These have the sweet switch, solid bird inlays, hand signed headstock logo (like the old Signature series), Ebony tuner buttons, Zebra coil 59-09 pickups, Certificate and Artist case. Best of all these are being built from Paul's private stock of wood that he has been building up over the last 20 years. We (Paul Reed Smith, Jeff Depetro, Brian Wachter & I) selected the 20 incredible flamed maple tops and Brazilian Rosewood fingerboards that were used on these guitars. The quality of the wood is well above an Artist Grade and most of the tops Paul thought met Private Stock requirements! There will be 10 in Double Stained Vintage Yellow, 5 in Double Stained Vintage Sunburst and 5 in Double Stained Faded Indigo, Nitrocellulose lacquer finish.

There are now 6 Vintage Yellow and 4 Vintage Sunburst left. Faded Indigo are sold out.

Gibson Les Paul Goldtop '54/'56

This guitar was Paul Reed Smith's personal guitar (letter from Paul included) and anyone that knows Paul, knows that he only buys exceptional playing and sounding examples. This guitar seems to be a completely straight '54 Les Paul Goldtop except that is has a '56 serial number. Paul theorized that maybe it was sent back to Gibson for a re-neck in '56, but I'm not sure I agree with that as I see no evidence of there ever being any work done that way. From what I've seen with Gibson I would think it would possibly have been laying around the factory for a bit, then finished/assembled in '56, Either way it is a mystery that may not be solved, but it is an incredible playing and sounding guitar! Pro refret, had Schaller tuners installed at one time, 60's Kluson tuners now on the guitar. With reissue Lifton hardshell case. VG+
