In 1977, Ace Frehley, along with Mega-Band Kiss, was riding the meteoric wave of the world’s first hard rock, pop super group/marketing machine. Unlike anything the world had seen before, Kiss had taken music and performance into the main stream with a commercialized yet somehow authentic brand of  Rock and Roll that changed the landscape of  both music and live performance. Taking the stage in Budokan Hall, Japan along with his customized, three pickup Les Paul Custom, Ace Frehley was becoming one of the few rare and critically important influencers that defined the direction of Rock and Roll and inspired legions of dreamers to pick up the guitar. In celebration of Ace’s legendary status as a rock icon, and the specific moment in time that solidified the same, Gibson Custom is proud to announce the release of the Ace Frehley “Budokan” Les Paul Custom. Here are the details: A limited run of 100 aged versions will be built, Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish, 3 piece Maple top, 70’s style “pancake” body, Ebony fingerboard with the Pearl block inlays on a 3 piece Mahogany neck, 1974 Ace Frehley neck profile, 2 Dimarzio PAF and 1 Dimarzio Super Distortion pickups with only the bridge pickup wired like the original, With the certificate and hardshell case

Gibbons Burst, Serial number DGS024, 9.2 pounds, A limited run of 30 guitars total with 25 right hand and 5 left hand versions will be built, We personally selected the tops for every one of these guitars and then painstakingly selected the color that we thought brought out the best in each top, We also had the bodies stained in a very faded Cherry as used on the recent Collector's Choice #2 Les Paul, Special wound pickups to our specs with zebra coils under the covers, The pickguards are included but not installed, Dave's Guitar Shop 30th Anniversary certificate and truss rod cover are also included, With hardshell case
