On May 16th, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) published updated mask guidelines for fully vaccinated individuals, in a step towards normalcy for what has been a chaotic and difficult year. Many businesses are resuming standard operating procedures and Dave’s Guitar Shop is no different. Here is how Dave’s Guitar Shop is operating moving forward.
Starting June 2nd, we’re gradually transitioning to pre-Covid19 operations. However, each store will operate differently based on many extenuating factors. Here is what that will look like moving forward.
LaCrosse will return to normal store hours; Monday through Friday 10am to 6pm, and Saturdays 10am to 5pm. However, appointments will remain in effect Monday through Thursday to visit the shop.
The reason LaCrosse will continue to operate by appointment throughout the week is the increased volume of online orders. Since March of last year, we have seen a major uptick in online purchases. Most online order processing is done in our flagship store, and many of those orders are shipped directly from that store as well. As a result, we believe it’s best to continue operating by appointment, Monday through Thursday, so we can continue to offer the best possible service for our customers.
We recognize the original Dave’s Guitar Shop is the Guitarist’s Mecca of the Midwest for a reason, so appointments are not required on Fridays or Saturdays. Additionally, Dave’s Collection upstairs will be open to foot traffic on Fridays and Saturdays as well.
Milwaukee will resume general store hours with an unlocked front door starting June 2nd. Monday through Saturday, you can come in and view our showroom, try out guitars, and drop off repairs. Our staff will be masked on the showroom floor when customers are in the building.
Customers are required to wear a mask if they have not been fully vaccinated. We’re not going to ask for verification of vaccination, and we recognize that it’s a choice to wear one if vaccinated. Regardless of if you choose to wear a mask or not, please be respectful of other customers and staff in our showroom.
Madison is continuing to operate by appointment only, with a mask required for entry. This decision comes out of respect for some of our higher-risk employees. The Madison shop will return to more regular operating procedures soon, but are taking measures to do so safely.
Dave’s Drum Depot:
Dave’s Drum Depot will continue to operate with their standard store hours. They’re open Tuesday through Friday 10am to 6pm, and Saturday 10am to 5pm.
Health and safety of the general public and comfort of our customers is important to us. That’s why we’ll continue to offer curbside pickup as an option at all of our locations. We’re happy to make any accommodation for Dave’s Guitar Shop patrons as best as we can.
This was a difficult year, that goes without saying. Fortunately, the end is in sight, and we’re ecstatic to return to some semblance of normalcy.
We’re grateful for each and every one of you for sticking with Dave’s Guitar Shop through all of this. We’re fortunate to have you as our customers. Without all of you, there is no Dave’s Guitar Shop. You’ve made this incredibly difficult year, and every one of these 38 years in operation possible. So, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
When this all started, we quoted The Beatles’ song “Yesterday,” on social media to speak to the complex moment in history we were about to experience. In difficult times, we often turn to music for comfort, just as we turn to music in times of joy. So, as we begin the transition back to normalcy, we’d like to evoke The Beatles one more time with a rendition of Here Comes the Sun by our very own, Nick Omiccioli.
